Social Media Lawsuit

A Facebook Post and The Workplace

The article I read this week is about two women who were expressing their feelings about the company they work for on a Facebook post. The post was made when both of the women were off and already at home but when they came back to work the next morning, they got in trouble. They each got a verbal warning about the incident and were told that if similar posts were made in the future, they would be fired. Should businesses be allowed to reprimand their employees of posts they make off the clock? That’s what started this whole lawsuit. Can a company actually get away with taking your right of “free speech” away? The case is still pending; however, it is going to be interesting to see how it plays out. I think the women shouldn’t get into any type of trouble for what they express on their social media site, every American has the right to free speech and that includes these two women.

WE#4-Teamwork

I feel as though teamwork helps make any job, easier. If you have a good group of coworkers,  the work load shouldn't be nearly as tough as it normally would be. Working together cuts time, energy, and even payroll. Teamwork is very critical in any business. A business that has all employees working together shows customers that the business cares, and customers want to see that for themselves. Teamwork makes businesses better, easier, and closer.

WE #3 -Respect

Respect goes a long way in life and in any type of work environment. The old saying goes "to gain respect, one must give respect" and its so true! If you want your boss to respect you, you have to show them that you are worth respecting. Show up on time, be polite, give feedback, and always treat others the way you want to be treated. I try to show respect every where I go, but sometimes, on bad days its a little hard, but as long as one tries, its shown. Showing respect makes others feel good, and it actually makes you feel like a decent human being.

How can I search for a file?

If you have a windows operating system on your computer, searching for a file is simple. All you have to do is click on the "start button" which is located in the bottom left corner of the computer screen. As soon as you click the "start button" a search bar will appear at the bottom of the menu. From there you type in a key word associated with the file you are searching for and press enter. Once you have done that, your file should pop up on the menu screen.

WE #2 Attendance

Attendance is one of the most important work ethic traits to have. When you have good attendance, you are showing your employer that you are loyal and are dependable. In a world where everyone is trying to get a job or to keep a job, its so important to be there every day. Some places will fire you if you are have poor attendance! Sometimes, I run late to work, rarely, but it happens, so I can help myself improve in this area by setting my alarm clock twenty minutes earlier than normal.
Another way that helps me try to maintain good attendance is remembering this quote that my high school band director would always tell us this, "If you're early, you're one time. If you're on time, you're late."
